My current body of work is based on an ever-evolving narrative, The Myth of Umu, which I have been developing over the last four years. I see my role as an artist as that of a visual storyteller.
Stories are what bind us together. Internally, they help us understand ourselves, our lives, as well as who we are and want to become. Externally, stories have the power to draw together communities. They help us find empathy and understanding for one another as well as help us to feel part of something greater than our immediate selves.
